    Questions

    Common questions

How many headlines should a responsive search ad have?
Google needs at least 3 headlines and 2 descriptions, and accepts up to 15 and 4. Aim for 10 to 15 distinct headlines so Google can test more combinations; that is also what raises Ad Strength.
What are the character limits for Google search ads?
Headlines are 30 characters, descriptions 90 characters, and each of the two display paths 15 characters. The builder counts every field and flags anything over the limit.
    What is break-even ROAS?
It is the return on ad spend at which you neither make nor lose money: 1 divided by your profit margin. With a 40% margin you need at least 2.5x ROAS before ads are profitable.
Do I need UTM tags if Google Ads auto-tagging is on?
Auto-tagging already sends Google Ads data to Google Analytics. Add UTMs as well if you use other analytics tools, a CRM or call tracking that reads UTM parameters.
Does broad match modifier still exist?
No. Google retired broad match modifier (+keyword) in 2021 and folded it into phrase match, so this tool outputs broad, phrase and exact match only.
